David F. Carr joins Redbooth as its official storyteller following a long career as a technology journalist. He was previously Editor at Large at InformationWeek and is the author of  Social Collaboration for Dummies (Wiley, Oct. 2013). He originally joined InformationWeek to oversee its coverage social business and collaboration technologies, although he also rotated through a series of responsibilities covering the IT concerns of specific industries as editor of InformationWeek Education, InformationWeek Healthcare, and InformationWeek Government. He served as social business track chair for the Enterprise 2.0 / E2 conference series and is a frequent speaker and panel moderator at industry events. As the InformationWeek editor who was most effective at promoting articles through social media, he conducted internal training and developed tools to make others more effective at online promotion.

David is a former Technology Editor of Baseline and Internet World magazines. He has freelanced for publications including CIO Magazine, CIO Insight, and Defense Systems. As part of a sideline as a web consultant, he created several WordPress plugins, notably the event scheduling extension RSVPMaker. His latest online venture, WordPress for Toastmasters, is the result of his involvement as a regional officer in Toastmasters, the public speaking and leadership development organization and seeks to move clubs off an inflexible, proprietary platform that is currently their default choice.
